Great grandson of propositus William Burnet. Chaplain of the Society of the Cincinnati in New Jersey 1882-1883. Born in Newark, NJ on 21 Mar 1820 and died in Allegheny, PA on 16 Jul 1883. Princeton graduate 1838 and MA Degree 1841. Princeton Theological Seminary graduate 1843. Rutgers DD, STD Degree 1860. Ordained 30 Jan 1844. Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Paterson, NJ 1844-1871. Professor of Sacred Rhetoric and Pastoral Theology at Western Theological Seminary, Allegheny, PA 1871- 1883.
