2019 Fall Meeting

The Fall Meeting was held at Anderson House on Saturday 5 October, and included the presentation of the History Prize to Joyce Lee Malcolm.

New Jersey Member Discovers His Ancestor’s Original Membership Certificate Signed by George Washington

The long and winding journey of the membership diploma of one of New Jersey's Original Member's provides some fascinating insights into the history of our Society.

ELIZABETHTOWN, 11th June, 1783
The officers of the New Jersey Line being about to return to their respective places of abode, were requested by General DAYTON, to convene, for the purpose of considering the Institution of the Society of the Cincinnati, and, after some time spent thereon, they resolved unanimously to become members, and subscribed to the institution accordingly.
