General and Constituent Societies

Since its founding, the Society of the Cincinnati has been comprised of fourteen constituent societies, representing the original thirteen colonies as well as France. Together, these societies form the General Society. The Society’s original members typically belonged to the society of the state in which they had served. Today, members still typically join the constituent society in which their propositus served, regardless of where they may reside.
