Member of Squadron A, 1st and 2nd Troop, 101st Cavalry NY National Guard in New York City 1895-1900. Re-enlisted in 1916, served on the Mexican Border and served as Captain in the US Army until 1919 in World War I. Graduate of Cornell University 1893. Associated with Title Guarantee and Trust Company 1893-1897. Joined the Bond and Mortgage Guarantee Company 1897 and rose to President of the company. Vice-President and Director of the real estate firm of Albert B. Ashforth, Inc. 1911-1916. Vice President of Astor Trust Company 1916 and when it merged with Bankers Trust Company 1918-1922. Trustee of (TIAA) Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association. Trustee of Drydock Savings Institution. Trustee and president of the board of Lawrenceville School. Yachtsman. Member of the Society of Colonial Wars; Sons of the Revolution; and the Pilgrims. Member Psi Upsilon. Married Rey S. Hutchings.
