The Honorable Elias Bailey Dayton Ogden

Son of propositus Aaron Ogden.Born in Elizabethtown, NJ on 22 May 1799/1800 and died in Elizabeth, NJ on 24 Feb 1865. Princeton graduate 1819 and MA Degree 1822. Licensed Attorney in 1824. Sergeant-at-Law in 1837. Prosecutor of Pleas for Essex County, NJ 1828 and for Passaic County, NJ 1838. Twice elected to the New Jersey State Legislature. Associate Justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court 1848-1865. Delegate to the New Jersey State Constitutional Convention of 1844. Married 1st Susan Dayton Beasley on 23 Aug 1826.
