Began his service in the Revolutionary War as 2nd Lieutenant in Captain John Ross Company 3rd Regiment NJ Line 9 Feb 1776. 1st Lieutenant 29 Oct 1776. Captain in the 3rd Regiment NJ Line 1 Jan 1777. Transferred to the 2nd Regiment NJ Line 1 Jan 1781. Brigade Major to Brigadier General William Maxwell in the 2nd Regiment NJ Line 6 Jan 1783. Retained in and last served in Cummings New Jersey Continental Battalion from Apr 1783. Served to the close of war. Born on 3 Jan 1755. Place of birth unknown. Died in Mount Holly, New Jersey on 9 Mar 1816 (or 29 Oct 1841). Married Jane Ross on 6 Apr 1779.
