Son of propositus Samuel Hay. Secretary ofthe Society of the Cincinnati in New Jersey 1829-1830. Born in Newark, NJ on 25 Jul or Dec 1793 and died in Orange, NJ on 27 Dec 1860. Princeton graduate 1818, MA Degree 1821, and DD Degree from Hobart College 1839. Minister of the 2nd Presbyterian Church of Newark,NJ 1822-1833, then the 1st Presbyterian Church of Geneva, NY 1833-1846. Moderator of the General Assembly of the Northern Presbyterian Church in 1849. Teacher in a select boy’s school. Married Elizabeth Condit on 14 Feb 1826.
