Surgeon Lewis Dunham

Began his service in the Revolutionary War as Colonel in the New Jersey Militia. Surgeon in the 3rd Regiment NJ Line 8 Feb to Oct 1776. Again Surgeon in the 3rd Regiment NJ Line 28 Nov 1776. Resigned from service in Jan 1780. Born in New Brunswick, NJ on 31 Mar 1754 and died in New Brunswick, NJ on 26 Aug 1821. Member of the New Jersey Colonial Assembly. In 1775 he was a Delegate to the New Jersey Provincial Congress. Mayor of New Brunswick, NJ 1793-1794. Member of the New Jersey State Medical Society in 1783. Secretary of the New Jersey State Medical Society 1783-1784 and President in 1791 and 1816. Medical practitioner in New Brunswick, NJ. Married Jane Tuthill on 4 May 1777.
