Great grandnephew of propositus William Maxwell. Secretary of the Society of the Cincinnati in New Jersey 1913-1923 and 1925-1926, Vice-President 1923-1925, President 1936-1947, and President Emeritus 1947-1948. Born in Easton, PA on 3 Aug 1862 and died in Easton, PA on 16 Feb 1948. Graduate of Lafayette College in 1882. Studied law at Colombia University. Attorney. Practiced law for 62 years. Served as Nestor of the Northampton County, PA Bar. Founder, publisher and editor of the “Northampton County Reporter”, legal journal. Member of the law firm of Chidsey, Maxwell, Fackenthal and Teel. President of the Fire Insurance Company of Northampton County. Vice-President and Trust Officer of Easton National Bank. Secretary of the Easton Board of Trade. Member of the Sons of the Revolution.
