Grandson of propositus William Sandford Pennington. Assistant Secretary of the Society of the Cincinnati in New Jersey 1879-1884. Born in Newark, NJ on 2 Feb 1841 and died in Newark, NJ on 14 Jun 1884. Served as Captain of the 12th US Infantry 4 Oct 1861 during the Civil War. Resigned from service 20 Dec 1862.
