Lieutenant Charles Hobart Baldwin

(2) Great grandson of propositus Daniel Baldwin. Born in San Francisco, CA 19 Jul 1897 and died in San Francisco, CA on 11 Mar 1943. Enlisted at Camp Devine in May 1918 in the 151st Depot Brigade. Transferred to the 74th Infantry Regiment. World War I Airplane Pilot. Did not serve overseas. Member of Squadron A in New York for two years. Lieutenant in the New York National Guard. One year at Hartford College. Attended Harvard University. Architectural School at Colombia and the University of Michigan. Worked in architecture in New York then real estate in San Francisco, CA. In charge of his mother’s mining interests in Virginia City that was inherited from the Hobart family. Amateur aviator of national prominence. Advocate for the development of airports in San Francisco, CA in 1932. Member of the National Aeronautic Association. Married Dorothy Gilpin on 30 Nov 1935.

Mr. Baldwin was the great-great-grandson of Daniel Baldwin.
