Luther Foster Halsey, MD

Grandson of propositus Luther Halsey. Born in 1833. Place of birth unknown. Died in Swedesboro, NJ on 6 Jul 1895. Served as Assistant Surgeon in the 7th Infantry Regiment New Jersey Volunteers 20 Aug 1862 and 1863 in the Civil War. Transferred to the 2nd New Jersey Volunteer Infantry and served from 9 Mar 1863 to 31 May 1864. Chief of Doctors for the Army of the Potomac. Also served in the British Navy in 1861 and was present at the Bombardment of Sebastopol in the Crimean War. Doctor practicing in Swedesboro, NJ. President of the Gloucester County Medical Society.
