Herman Albert Dayton

(3) Great grandson of propositus Elias Dayton. Born in Cornwall, CT on 16 Jul 1917 and died in Leesburg, VA on 3 Mar 1979. Studied at the National Political Education Academy, Cologne, Germany 1937. In 1938 joined the National Broadcasting Company, Radio City, New York, NY until 1942 as a broadcaster, TV and Radio announcer. In 1942 joined the American Broadcasting Company, station WMAL and the Washington Evening Star. Went back to NBC in 1952 and was the announcer for Meet The Press until 1979. Nicknamed Lee Dayton.
