(3) Great grandson of propositus Francis Barber. Born in Elizabeth, NJ on 13 Sep 1879 and died in Cranford, NJ on 19 Aug 1938. Served in the Third Regiment NJ Volunteer Infantry, Company C,during the Spanish American War as a Private. Then in the 1st Battalion Naval Militia of NY, 2nd Division for 11 years as Seaman, Gun Captain and Boatswains Mate. Worked for many years with Western Union Telegraph Company.
