First Lieutenant John Heard

Began his service in the Revolutionary War as 2nd Lieutenant in Captain Frederick Frelinghuysen’s Eastern Company New Jersey Artillery on 1 Mar 1776. 1st Lieutenant in the 4th Continental Dragoons 20 Jan 1777. Captain 8 Feb 1778. Served to the close of war. Born in Woodbridge, NJ in Dec 1752 and died in New Brunswick, NJ on 16 Feb 1826. Brigadier General in the New Jersey Militia Cavalry.
