Franklin Anderson Heard

Grandson of propositus John Heard. Born in Hagerstown, MD on 10 Jun 1826 and died in Hagerstown, MD on 25 Sep 1909. A printer by training, purchased the ‘Chronicle’ newspaper in Hagerstown, MD and published for 14 years. Later was in the millinery trade until 1903. Appointed Deputy Stamp Collector under the Garfield, Cleveland and Harrison administrations. A musician and director of the Hagerstown Band for 35 years.
