Captain William Warren Barbour, Jr.

Born in Monmouth Beach, NJ in 1888 and died in Washington, DC on 22 Nov 1943. Served in the New York Militia as a Captain on the Mexican Border in 1916. Served 10 years in the New York National Guard. Graduate of Princeton. Mayor of Rumson, New Jersey 1923-1928. Delegate to the 1928 and 1932 Republican National Conventions. United States Senator from New Jersey 1933-1937 and 1939-1943. Chairman of the New Jersey Unemployment Compensation Commission Jan-Nov 1937. Advocate for Jewish refugees during World War II.
