Grandson of Surgeon’s Mate Moses Gale Elmer. Born about 1847 in New Jersey to Apollos Morrell Elmer and Eunice Theodosia Morrell. Died 27 Oct 1892 in New York, N.Y. as a result of an operation on kidney stones. Worked in the actuary department of the New York Life Insurance Company for twenty years.
