Began his service in the Revolutionary War as Ensign in the 3rd Regiment NJ Line 1 Jun 1777. 2nd Lieutenant in the 4th Regiment NJ Line 1 Nov 1777. Transferred to the 3rd Regiment NJ Line. Wounded in a Long Island raid 10 Dec 1777. Colonel in the Monmouth County, NJ Militia. Transferred to the 1st Regiment New Jersey Line 1 Jan 1781. Ensign in the 3rd Regiment 1 Jan 1781. 1st Lieutenant in the 1st Regiment NJ Line 12 May 1782. Retained in and last served in Cumming’s New Jersey Continental Battalion from Apr 1783. Captain by Brevet. Served to 3 Nov 1783. Born in Middletown, NJ in 1752 and died in Allentown, NJ on 11 Nov 1818. Buried in Adelphia, NJ. Married Lucy Imlay.
