Began his service in the Revolutionary War as 1st Lieutenant in the 6th Regiment PA Line 15 Feb 1777. Captain in the 6th Regiment PA Line 1 Nov 1778. Taken prisoner at the Battle of Monmouth 28 Jun 1778 then released Feb 1780. Born in Philadelphia County, PA 28 May 1744 and died in Chester County, PA 13 Jul 1837. Married Ann Hunter 28 Feb 1771.
