Surgeon Moses Scott
Began his service in the Revolutionary War as Physician and Surgeon in the Hospital Department of the Continental Army 21 Feb 1777. Present at the Battles of Trenton, Princeton, Brandywine and Germantown. Chief Surgeon of the Continental Army in Piscataway, NJ. Director-General of the Military Hospitals. Resigned from service 13 Dec 1780. Born in 1738 and died in New Brunswick, NJ on 28 Dec 1821. Served in the French and Indian War and was at Braddockâs Defeat. Was a commissioned officer three years later at the capture of Fort Du Quesne. Studied medicine after the French and Indian War and moved to New Brunswick, NJ. Member of the Medical Society of New Jersey 1782 and President 1789. Fellow of the College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York in 1814. Married Anna Johnson.
