Lieutenant Joseph King

Began his service in the Revolutionary War as Regimental Adjutant in the 4th Regiment NJ Line 28 Nov 1776. Wounded and taken prisoner at the Battle of Short Hills, NJ 26 Jun 1777. Paymaster and Lieutenant in Baldwin’s Continental Artillery Artificer Regiment 6 Feb 1780. Retired from service in May 1781. Date and place of birth and death unknown. [Sources: M; H.]
