Captain John Mott

Began his service in the Revolutionary War as 1st Lieutenant in the 3rd Regiment NJ Line 9 Feb 1776. Captain 20 Nov 1776. Guided the army of General Washington over the Delaware River to victory at Trenton. Retired from Continental service on 26 Sep 1780. Served as Captain in the NJ Militia. Born in 1731 or Jun 1747 in Richmond, MA and died 31 May 1831 in Knox County, OH. Married Mary Ellen Rowley on 24 Mar 1774.
