Major Ichabod Burnet

Original Member of the GA Society. Represented in the NJ Society. Began his service in the Revolutionary War the Revolutionary War as Secretary of the Essex County, NJ Committee of Correspondence 1775. Major and Aide de Camp to General Nathaniel Greene 1778-1783. The officer detailed to inform Major André of his doom and attended him at his execution. Date and place of birth unknown. (An Ichabod Burnet, son of David and Abigail, died on 29 Mar 1785 and is buried in Madison, NJ. Or died 1783 per Princeton University records.) Princeton graduate 1775, and AM Degree 1781.
