First Lieutenant Abraham Kinney

First joined the Connecticut Society and transferred to the New Jersey Society. Dropped from rolls 4 Jul 1810 for failure to deposit one month’s pay. Began his service in the Revolutionary War as Ensign in the 3rd Regiment PA Line 24 May 1779. 1st Lieutenant in the 2nd Regiment Continental Dragoons 14 Jun 1781. Served to 3 Nov 1783. Born in Speedwell or Morristown, NJ on 16 Aug 1762 and died in Newark, NJ on 31 Jan 1816. After the Revolution served as Lieutenant Colonel of the Morris and Sussex Cavalry in the War of 1812 and was stationed at Sandy Hook. Married Hannah Burnet on 12 Jan 1784.
