Meetings of the Society of the Cincinnati in the State of New Jersey

Seventy members and guests of the Society of the Cincinnati in the State of New Jersey gathered in Washington, D.C., over the weekend of October 2nd through 4th for the annual fall meeting at Anderson House, the headquarters of the Society of the Cincinnati. It was the New Jersey Society’s largest gathering in many years.

The weekend began on Friday evening with a reception and dinner at the historic Army and Navy Club, where members were joined by the Society’s Executive Director, Andy Morse, and Director of Communications, Glenn Hennessey.

On Saturday morning, members convened for the annual business meeting in the English Drawing Room at Anderson House, where newly elected members were welcomed and presented with their insignia.

Members and guests then gathered in the Ballroom for luncheon, which included a special presentation, joined by Deputy Director and Curator Emily Parsons. Afterward, members enjoyed a private viewing of the Society’s collection of Eagle insignia in the Research Library.

The weekend culminated on Saturday evening with a black-tie banquet at Anderson House, at which the New Jersey Society presented its 2026 History Prize to Jonathan Turley for Rage and the Republic: The Unfinished Story of the American Revolution.

We look forward to welcoming members to the 2027 Spring Meeting, to be held in New Jersey in late April.
