Captain Samuel Hendry

Began his service in the Revolutionary War as Ensign in the 2nd Regiment New Jersey Line 28 Oct 1775. 2nd Lieutenant on 30 Nov 1776. Captain-Lieutenant 1 Jan 1779. 1st Lieutenant 1 Jan 1779. Captain 5 Jul 1779. Retained in and last served in Cumming’s Continental Battalion from Apr 1783. Served as Captain to 3 Nov 1783. Born in Burlington, NJ in 1754 and died in Burlington, NJ on 15 Oct 1823. Married 1st Phebe Chandler. Married 2nd Elizabeth Anderson on 2 Mar 1785.
