Captain John Reading

Began his service in the Revolutionary War as Ensign in the 2nd Regiment NJ Line 2 Apr 1776. 2nd Lieutenant 29 Nov 1776. 1st Lieutenant 1 Jan 1777. 1st Lieutenant in the 3rd Regiment New Jersey Line. Resigned from service 10 Feb 1779. Born in Hunterdon County, NJ in 1751 and died in Hunterdon County, NJ on 30 Nov 1820 age 70. After the Revolutionary War held a Captain’s Commission.
