Brevet Captain John Blair

Began his service in the Revolutionary War as Ensign in the Salem County, NJ Militia. Ensign in Colonel Silas Newcomb’s Battalion, General Nathaniel Heard’s Brigade NJ Militia 14 Jun 1776. Ensign in the 4th Regiment NJ Line 28 Nov 1776. 2nd Lieutenant 1 May 1777. 1st Lieutenant 1 Nov 1779. Lieutenant in the 3rd Regiment NJ Line and Regimental Adjutant 1 Nov 1780. Transferred to the 1st Regiment New Jersey Line 1 Jan 1781. Served to Apr 1783. Brevet Captain. Date and place of birth and death unknown.
